Best baby travel systemsGraco Deluxe - Great, but  heavy

On ConsumerSearch.com, the Quattro Tour Deluxe gets the best reviews of Graco’s full-size travel systems. It’s a comfortable, sturdy and is full-featured stroller with a fully enclosed hood, all-weather boot (on some models) and plush padding. The Quattro Tour Deluxe (from £245) comes with the Graco Infant SafeSeat (which is rated for babies up to 30 pounds).

Over at thinkbaby.co.uk some 17 reviewers gave the Quattro Tour Deluxe a rating of 4/5 with comments including “All you need out of a buggy through to a pushchair. Easy to fold up and down. Easy to attach carseat to.” While there were few negative comments, there was a consistent theme, as one reviewer put it “Pretty heavy, so not really good if you’ve got to go to places on the bus and your on your own.”

Britax Vigour B-Smart – Solid choice

Mumsnet.com best rated travel system is the Britax Vigour 3 (now called the B-Smart 3), scoring 8.6 out of 10 from 6 reviews. According to one reviewer “Good all rounder pushchair. I wanted a pushchair I could comfortably run and walk with and have done both (it’s now 2.5 years old). Unlike some other 3 wheelers it’s not too long – so you can turn it in small spaces, and get on london buses! And it fits into the boot of a micra (with not much else admittedly). Really recommend it – and I got a great deal plus carrycot and carseat online. Never had a puncture (so far). All in all, Great value!”

Over at ReviewCentre.com, the 4-wheel Britax Vigour 4 (now called the B-Smart 4) rates a heafty 4.8/5 from 24 reviews. Says one happy user “Britax Vigour 4 is a sturdy, versatile pushchair. Great for bumpy terrain! Easy to put up and down, great to face both ways so you can see your child if you want to!”

Baby Jogger City – Great value

Also at ReviewCentre.com, users gave 4.8 out of 5 to the lightweight and well-priced Baby Jogger City Mini. “Love it – a simple fold, use from birth, a dream to push… i only wish i’d found it earlier. we bought it for a holiday, but by the end of the 2 weeks we decided to stop using our expensive bugaboo and switched to this one.” To make this a travel system, you can put the Baby Jogger Carrycot onto the Pushchair. This means that you can create a great little travel system by combining the City Mini Pushchair, Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat and Baby Jogger carry cot.

Phil & Ted’s – Sporty option

The Phil and Ted’s Travel System has the advantage of having a clip-in frame for a quality car seat. Once baby has outgrown the infant car seat you have a nice, lightweight pushchair without the baggage of a full travel system. Phil and Ted’s is also a great option with two children close in age – the baby can lay flat in the bottom of the pram, while the toddler sits in a buggy at the front.

What not to buy… The Silver Cross 3D was lambasted by ReviewCentre.com users, scoring just 1.2 out of 5 from 17 reviews. Said one user “Do not but the Silver Cross 3D!!!! Everything on it is awkard and breaks!”
